Website Live!
The House Ravenwolf website is live! For more than a year, I have been thinking about a home base for everything I do, but other projects kept feeling more important. Then back in February, it became obvious this project had to bubble up to the top. I must admit getting this website project started was being put off due to equal parts procrastination and inertia (the at-rest kind). There was also the vague notion that this would not be a small, simple, or easy project. I was not ready to start something ambitious.
What is this website actually for? Here I will host news about new and current projects. Currently, this means a video game project. In the past -- and definitely again in the future -- projects included fantasy TTRPG maps, music, stories, and the odd t-shirt design. This website will also host projects for download, or direct you to where you can get them. So a one-stop-shop place for all things House Ravenwolf! Right now, the website is a little bare, having just a few informational pages. Over the coming months, it will grow with new pages, content, and projects. Join my mailing list or check back regularly to keep up!
On the topic of ambitious, this took a while to make. A lot has changed since I last made a dynamic website. Back then, dotNet Framework 3.5 was the current technology. I think this was between 2008 and 2010. How things have changed! What used to be dynamic websites are now full on executable applications with a whole different set of security and hosting environment concerns. Dot Net Framework is retired in favor of a new programming/design paradigm. I settled on Dot Net Core 9. It shares the same language, but absolutely nothing else! All this to say in a roundabout way I had a lot to learn to get this website up. It is something to be proud of.
